Who Checks These Requirements

One lawyer reviews every eligibility guide and document list on this site before it is published or updated.

Vanuatu Citizenship Requirements is an independent information site. It explains who is eligible to apply for Vanuatu citizenship, which documents are usually requested and how each one has to be prepared, certified and translated. It is not run by the Citizenship Commission or by any other part of the Vanuatu government.

Every guide here is reviewed by Tarek Muhammad before it goes live, and again whenever the underlying rules change. His task is to make sure that what a reader takes away matches the law and published practice rather than a marketing summary.

What Muhammad checks on this site

  • Eligibility conditions are traced to the Citizenship Act [CAP 112] and the regulations made under it, not to secondary summaries.
  • Document lists match what applications currently require, including the certification and translation standards set out in published guidance.
  • Character and criminal-record requirements are worded as the rules state them, with no hint of an automatic pass or an automatic refusal.
  • Rules on which family members may be included as dependants reflect the current published position.
  • Processing time is given as usually 2 to 4 months, with no guarantee, and never presented as a promise.

What the reviewer does not do

Tarek Muhammad does not file applications and has no part in deciding them. Under the Act, an application can only be lodged by a designated agent who appears on the published register of agents, and the decision rests with the Citizenship Commission. Nothing on this page or elsewhere on the site is legal advice on a particular case.
